Marquette Catholic Explorers (Alton, IL) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Christ Our Rock Lutheran Silver Stallions (Centralia, IL), 66-52 in a league bout.

With the win, Marquette Catholic upgrades its record to 20-7 on the season. The Explorers travel to Maryville Christian (Maryville, IL) to clash with the Lions in a Gateway bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 4-22. Maryville Christian lost 51-35 in their recent league bout against Father McGivney Catholic (Glen Carbon, IL)

Next up, the Silver Stallions clash with the Maryville Christian Lions (Maryville, IL) in a Gateway bout, on Friday, February 9. Christ Our Rock Lutheran will attempt to upgrade on its 14-14 season record.
