Goreville Blackcats (Goreville, IL) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Christopher Bearcats (Christopher, IL), 56-42 in a league bout.

With the win, Goreville upgrades its record to 23-2 on the season. The Blackcats travel to Carlyle (Carlyle, IL) to clash with the Indians/Lady Indians in a non-league bout on Saturday, February 3. The Indians/Lady Indians go into the bout with a record of 19-8. Carlyle lost 50-46 in their recent league bout against Wesclin (Trenton, IL)

Next up, the Bearcats clash with the Johnston City Indians (Johnston City, IL) in a Black Diamond - West bout, on Tuesday, February 6. Christopher will attempt to upgrade on its 12-13 season record. The Indians go into the bout with a 10-16 record after their 61-59 non-league win over Hardin County (Elizabethtown, IL).
