The Lubbock Westerners basketball team (Lubbock, TX), was toppled 43-30 in Friday's league battle with the visiting Cooper Cougars (Abilene, TX)
The Cougars now possess a 10-18 record. They put it on the line next when they host Coronado for a 5A Region I District 4 battle on Tuesday, February 6. Cooper will confront a Mustangs team coming off a 79-66 league loss to Wylie (Abilene, TX). The Mustangs record now stands at 18-12.
The Westerners (6-24) will now prepare for their battle against Monterey (Lubbock, TX). The Plainsmen come into the 5A Region I District 4 battle with a 14-16 record. In their last battle, Monterey beat Cooper (Abilene, TX), 50-40, in a league battle.
