The Red Oak Hawks (Red Oak, TX) basketball nipped the host Crandall Pirates (Crandall, TX), 58-53 in Friday's league test.

The Hawks (20-11) will now prepare for their test against Ennis (Ennis, TX). The Lions go into the 5A Region II District 14 test with a 7-20 record.

The Pirates now own a 15-15 record. They play next when they travel to Ennis for a 5A Region II District 14 test on Tuesday, February 6. Crandall will encounter a Lions squad coming off a 77-11 league win over Terrell (Terrell, TX). The Lions record now stands at 7-20.
