The Mumford Mustangs basketball team scored 61 points and held the visiting Denby Tars to 40 in the Mustangs non-league triumph on Friday.

The Mustangs now sport a 3-12 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Douglass for a non-league contest on Tuesday, February 6. Mumford will battle a Hurricanes team coming off a 59-20 league win over Communication Media Arts (Detroit, MI). The Hurricanes record now stands at 12-4.

The Tars (2-12) will now prepare for their contest against Center Line (Center Line, MI). The Panthers enter the non-league contest with a 13-2 record. In their last contest, Center Line triumphed over Hazel Park (Hazel Park, MI), 45-34, in a league contest.
