Denison Yellow Jackets (Denison, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Greenville Lions (Greenville, TX), 69-61 in a league bout.

With the victory, Denison upgrades its record to 9-20 on the campaign. The Yellow Jackets travel to Sherman (Sherman, TX) to play the Bearcats in a 5A Region II District 13 bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Bearcats come into the bout with a record of 26-3. Sherman won 71-66 in their recent league bout against Greenville (Greenville, TX)

Next up, the Lions play the Princeton Panthers (Princeton, TX) in a 5A Region II District 13 bout, on Tuesday, February 6. Greenville will attempt to upgrade on its 11-12 season record. The Panthers come into the bout with a 8-17 record after their 73-51 league loss to Melissa (Melissa, TX).
