Denmark-Olar Vikings (Denmark, SC) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Williston-Elko Blue Devils (Williston, SC), 56-51 in a league bout.

With the victory, Denmark-Olar upgrades its record to 15-5 on the campaign. The Vikings travel to Blackville-Hilda (Blackville, SC) to play the Fighting Hawks in a A Region 4 bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Fighting Hawks come into the bout with a record of 6-13. Blackville-Hilda lost 80-50 in their recent league bout against Calhoun County (St. Matthews, SC)

Next up, the Blue Devils play the Hunter-Kinard-Tyler Trojans (Neeses, SC) in a A Region 4 bout, on Tuesday, February 6. Williston-Elko will attempt to upgrade on its 8-9 season record. The Trojans come into the bout with a 12-8 record after their 87-47 league win over Wagener-Salley (Wagener, SC).
