Eastern Montgomery Mustangs (Elliston, VA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Highland Rams (Monterey, VA), 45-30 in a league bout.

With the victory, Eastern Montgomery upgrades its record to 6-13 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Montcalm (Montcalm, WV) to play the Generals in a non-league bout on Monday, February 5. The Generals come into the bout with a record of 6-7. Montcalm lost 40-30 in their recent league bout against Mount View (Welch, WV)

Next up, the Rams play the Craig County Rockets (New Castle, VA) in a Pioneer bout, on Monday, February 5. Highland will attempt to upgrade on its 4-9 season record. The Rockets come into the bout with a 5-13 record after their 63-51 non-league win over Bland County (Rocky Gap, VA).
