The Newcastle Racers basketball team scored 72 points and held the host Elk City Elks to 42 in the Racers league triumph on Friday.
The Racers now sport a 14-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Blanchard for a Western - North contest on Tuesday, February 6. Newcastle will battle a Lions team coming off a 56-39 non-league win over Anadarko (Anadarko, OK). The Lions record now stands at 15-5.
The Elks (6-15) will now prepare for their contest against Duncan (Duncan, OK). The Demons enter the non-league contest with a 1-18 record. In their last contest, Duncan was routed by Woodward (Woodward, OK), 56-39, in a league contest.
