Franklin Regional Panthers (Murrysville, PA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Greater Latrobe Wildcats (Latrobe, PA), 57-49 in a league bout.

With the win, Franklin Regional upgrades its record to 16-2 on the season. The Panthers travel to Gateway (Monroeville, PA) to play the Gators in a WPIAL 5A 3 bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Gators go into the bout with a record of 14-5. Gateway won 73-63 in their recent non-league bout against Belle Vernon (Belle Vernon, PA)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Penn-Trafford Warriors (Harrison City, PA) in a WPIAL 5A 3 bout, on Tuesday, February 6. Greater Latrobe will attempt to upgrade on its 7-11 season record. The Warriors go into the bout with a 11-10 record after their 57-44 league win over McKeesport (McKeesport, PA).
