The High Island Cardinals (High Island, TX) basketball nipped the visiting Goodrich Hornets (Goodrich, TX), 34-33 in Friday's league test.
The Cardinals (9-18) will now prepare for their test against Zavalla (Zavalla, TX). The Eagles go into the 1A Region IV District 28 test with a 4-17 record. In their last test, Zavalla was tipped by Leggett (Leggett, TX), 81-41, in a league test.
