Gravette Lions (Gravette, AR) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Prairie Grove Tigers (Prairie Grove, AR), 40-39 in a league bout.

With the victory, Gravette upgrades its record to 12-8 on the campaign. The Lions host Berryville (Berryville, AR) to play the Bobcats in a 4A Region 1 bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Bobcats come into the bout with a record of 4-23. Berryville lost 60-44 in their recent league bout against Pea Ridge (Pea Ridge, AR)

Next up, the Tigers play the Gentry Pioneers (Gentry, AR) in a 4A Region 1 bout, on Tuesday, February 6. Prairie Grove will attempt to upgrade on its 9-16 season record. The Pioneers come into the bout with a 5-17 record after their 89-37 league loss to Farmington (Farmington, AR).
