The Hedgesville Eagles (Hedgesville, WV) basketball nipped the host Musselman Applemen (Inwood, WV), 44-43 in Friday's league test.
The Eagles (11-3) will now prepare for their test against Jefferson (Shenandoah Junction, WV). The Cougars go into the Eastern Panhandle test with a 12-5 record. In their last test, Jefferson got by Musselman (Inwood, WV), 43-38, in a league test.
The Applemen now own a 10-6 record. They play next when they travel to Martinsburg for a Eastern Panhandle test on Saturday, February 3. Musselman will encounter a Bulldogs squad coming off a 59-52 league loss to Spring Mills (Martinsburg, WV). The Bulldogs record now stands at 8-4.
