Illinois High School Basketball - Murphysboro can't hold off Herrin

The Murphysboro Red Devils basketball team (Murphysboro, IL), was nudged 35-32 in Friday's league battle with the visiting Herrin Tigers (Herrin, IL)

The Tigers now possess a 19-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Massac County for a Southern Illinois River-to-River - Ohio battle on Tuesday, February 6. Herrin will battle a Patriots team coming off a 85-64 non-league win over Ballard Memorial (Barlow, KY). The Patriots record now stands at 18-7.

The Red Devils (17-9) will now prepare for their battle against Vienna (Vienna, IL). The Eagles come into the non-league battle with a 21-6 record. In their last battle, Vienna edged Johnston City (Johnston City, IL), 89-50, in a league battle.
