The Highland Park Hornets basketball team (Amarillo, TX), was overwhelmed 62-40 in Friday's league battle with the visiting Panhandle Panthers (Panhandle, TX)

The Panthers now possess a 13-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Bovina for a 2A Region I District 3 battle on Tuesday, February 6. Panhandle will battle a Mustangs team coming off a 53-39 league loss to Vega (Vega, TX). The Mustangs record now stands at 11-17.

The Hornets (8-20) will now prepare for their battle against Boys Ranch (Boys Ranch, TX). The Roughriders come into the 2A Region I District 3 battle with a 4-16 record. In their last battle, Boys Ranch was overwhelmed by Farwell (Farwell, TX), 78-16, in a league battle.
