Ionia Bulldogs (Ionia, MI) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Portland Raiders (Portland, MI), 58-38 in a league bout.

With the win, Ionia upgrades its record to 7-9 on the season. The Bulldogs host Eastern (Lansing, MI) to play the Quakers in a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Quakers go into the bout with a record of 7-9. Eastern lost 54-39 in their recent league bout against Williamston (Williamston, MI)

Next up, the Raiders play the Ovid-Elsie Marauders (Elsie, MI) in a non-league bout, on Monday, February 5. Portland will attempt to upgrade on its 9-5 season record. The Marauders go into the bout with a 10-4 record after their 52-31 league win over Mt. Morris (Mt. Morris, MI).
