Iron Mountain Mountaineers (Iron Mountain, MI) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Ishpeming Hematites (Ishpeming, MI), 71-28 in a league bout.

With the win, Iron Mountain upgrades its record to 15-0 on the season. The Mountaineers host Menominee (Menominee, MI) to play the Maroons in a non-league bout on Monday, February 5. The Maroons go into the bout with a record of 11-4. Menominee lost 75-71 in their recent league bout against Marquette (Marquette, MI)

Next up, the Hematites play the Westwood Patriots (Ishpeming, MI) in a Western Peninsula bout, on Wednesday, February 7. Ishpeming will attempt to upgrade on its 10-6 season record. The Patriots go into the bout with a 8-9 record after their 58-37 non-league win over Manistique (Manistique, MI).
