Lyons Lions (LaGrange, IL) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting York Dukes (Elmhurst, IL), 57-49 in a league bout.

With the win, Lyons upgrades its record to 9-14 on the season. The Lions travel to Oak Park-River Forest (Oak Park, IL) to play the Huskies in a West Suburban - Silver bout on Friday, February 9. The Huskies go into the bout with a record of 7-14. Oak Park-River Forest lost 80-47 in their recent league bout against Hinsdale Central (Hinsdale, IL)

Next up, the Dukes play the Lake Park Lancers (Roselle, IL) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, February 3. York will attempt to upgrade on its 21-5 season record. The Lancers go into the bout with a 23-3 record after their 44-42 league win over Glenbard North (Carol Stream, IL).
