Mapleton Mounties (Ashland, OH) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Plymouth Big Red (Plymouth, OH), 53-39 in a league bout.

With the victory, Mapleton upgrades its record to 11-5 on the campaign. The Mounties host St. Peter's (Mansfield, OH) to play the Spartans in a non-league bout on Saturday, February 3. The Spartans come into the bout with a record of 1-15. St. Peter's lost 71-35 in their recent league bout against Mansfield Christian (Mansfield, OH)

Next up, the Big Red play the Hillsdale Falcons (Jeromesville, OH) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, February 3. Plymouth will attempt to upgrade on its 7-9 season record. The Falcons come into the bout with a 12-3 record after their 67-63 league loss to Dalton (Dalton, OH).
