The Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet Royals basketball team scored 54 points and held the visiting Maplewood Panthers to 36 in the Royals league triumph on Friday.
The Royals now sport a 9-11 record. They put it on the line next when they host Lawson for a 3A District 10 contest on Tuesday, February 6. Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet will meet a Lightning team coming off a 53-37 league win over Glencliff (Nashville, TN). The Lightning record now stands at 10-15.
The Panthers (3-17) will now prepare for their contest against Hume-Fogg (Nashville, TN). The Blue Knights enter the 3A District 10 contest with a 15-6 record. In their last contest, Hume-Fogg ran past Valor College Prep (Nashville, TN), 57-21, in a league contest.
