The Mission College Prep Royals (San Luis Obispo, CA) basketball nipped the visiting San Luis Obispo Tigers (San Luis Obispo, CA), 49-44 in Friday's league test.

The Royals (7-16) will now prepare for their test against Independence (Bakersfield, CA). The Falcons go into the non-league test with a 15-7 record. In their last test, Independence got by Ridgeview (Bakersfield, CA), 65-58, in a league test.

The Tigers now own a 12-14 record. They play next when they travel to St. Joseph for a Mountain test on Tuesday, February 6. San Luis Obispo will encounter a Knights squad coming off a 103-44 non-league win over Atascadero (Atascadero, CA). The Knights record now stands at 24-2.
