The Porter Spartans basketball team (Porter, TX), was nudged 56-52 in Friday's league battle with the visiting Nacogdoches Dragons (Nacogdoches, TX)
The Dragons now sport a 20-10 record. They put it on the line next when they host Lufkin for a 5A Region II District 16 battle on Tuesday, February 6. Nacogdoches will battle a Panthers team coming off a 49-33 league win over Kingwood Park (Kingwood, TX). The Panthers record now stands at 20-11.
The Spartans (15-15) will now prepare for their battle against Huntsville (Huntsville, TX). The Hornets come into the 5A Region II District 16 battle with a 10-14 record. In their last battle, Huntsville edged Dayton (Dayton, TX), 56-48, in a league battle.
