The Nevada Union Miners basketball team (Grass Valley, CA), was nudged 52-49 in Friday's league battle with the host Placer Hillmen (Auburn, CA)

The Hillmen now possess a 23-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to West Park for a Foothill Valley battle on Wednesday, February 7. Placer will confront a Panthers team coming off a 60-56 league win over Ponderosa (Shingle Springs, CA). The Panthers record now stands at 19-6.

The Miners (14-12) will now prepare for their battle against Oakmont (Roseville, CA). The Vikings come into the Foothill Valley battle with a 11-15 record. In their last battle, Oakmont edged Lincoln (Lincoln, CA), 59-57, in a league battle.
