Winnebago Indians (Winnebago, IL) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting North Boone Vikings (Poplar Grove, IL), 64-47 in a league bout.

With the victory, Winnebago upgrades its record to 9-14 on the campaign. The Indians host Eastland (Lanark, IL) to play the Cougars in a non-league bout on Saturday, February 3. The Cougars come into the bout with a record of 18-8. Eastland lost 50-34 in their recent league bout against Fulton (Fulton, IL)

Next up, the Vikings play the Byron Tigers (Byron, IL) in a Big Northern bout, on Tuesday, February 6. North Boone will attempt to upgrade on its 8-17 season record. The Tigers come into the bout with a 21-2 record after their 55-51 non-league loss to Beecher (Beecher, IL).
