St. John's Islanders (John's Island, SC) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Palmetto Scholars Academy Phoenix (North Charleston, SC), 57-44 in a league bout.

With the win, St. John's upgrades its record to 7-16 on the season. The Islanders travel to Military Magnet Academy (North Charleston, SC) to clash with the Eagles in a A Region 8 bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 8-16. Military Magnet Academy lost 48-46 in their recent league bout against Burke (Charleston, SC)

Next up, the Phoenix clash with the Cross Trojans (Cross, SC) in a A Region 8 bout, on Tuesday, February 6. Palmetto Scholars Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 3-12 season record. The Trojans go into the bout with a 17-4 record after their 61-41 league win over Charleston Math & Science (Charleston, SC).
