Ponder Lions (Ponder, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Whitesboro Bearcats (Whitesboro, TX), 53-24 in a league bout.

With the win, Ponder upgrades its record to 18-6 on the season. The Lions travel to S & S Consolidated (Sadler, TX) to clash with the Rams in a 3A Region II District 10 bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Rams go into the bout with a record of 6-22. S & S Consolidated lost 50-41 in their recent league bout against Valley View (Valley View, TX)

Next up, the Bearcats clash with the Callisburg Wildcats (Gainesville, TX) in a 3A Region II District 10 bout, on Tuesday, February 6. Whitesboro will attempt to upgrade on its 18-10 season record. The Wildcats go into the bout with a 4-20 record after their 57-47 league loss to Pilot Point (Pilot Point, TX).
