The Rhea County Golden Eagles basketball team (Evensville, TN), dropped 62-50 in Friday's league battle with the visiting Walker Valley Mustangs (Cleveland, TN)

The Mustangs now possess a 16-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host McMinn County for a 4A District 5 battle on Tuesday, February 6. Walker Valley will battle a Cherokees team coming off a 60-56 non-league win over Sequoyah (Madisonville, TN). The Cherokees record now stands at 9-11.

The Golden Eagles (22-5) will now prepare for their battle against Cleveland (Cleveland, TN). The Blue Raiders come into the 4A District 5 battle with a 3-15 record. In their last battle, Cleveland prevailed over Bradley Central (Cleveland, TN), 51-50, in a non-league battle.
