Shawnee Mission Northwest Cougars (Shawnee Mission, KS) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Shawnee Mission South Raiders (Shawnee Mission, KS), 44-38 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Shawnee Mission Northwest upgrades its record to 14-0 on the season. The Cougars host Gardner-Edgerton (Gardner, KS) to clash with the Trailblazers in a Sunflower bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Trailblazers go into the bout with a record of 4-10. Gardner-Edgerton lost 48-45 in their recent non-league bout against Shawnee Mission North (Shawnee Mission, KS)

Next up, the Raiders clash with the Lawrence Lions (Lawrence, KS) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, February 6. Shawnee Mission South will attempt to upgrade on its 9-6 season record. The Lions go into the bout with a 3-9 record after their 64-54 non-league win over Shawnee Mission West (Shawnee Mission, KS).
