The Shelbyville Dragons basketball team scored 54 points and restricted the visiting Timpson Bears to 37 in the Dragons league victory on Friday.
The Dragons now sport a 21-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Beckville for a 2A Region III District 23 contest on Tuesday, February 6. Shelbyville will battle a Bearcats team coming off a 49-37 league win over Gary (Gary, TX). The Bearcats record now stands at 20-6.
The Bears (8-6) will now prepare for their contest against Tenaha (Tenaha, TX). The Tigers come into the 2A Region III District 23 contest with a 11-11 record. In their last contest, Tenaha was defeated by Garrison (Garrison, TX), 49-44, in a league contest.
