Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Washburn Castle Guards (Washburn, WI) and the host South Shore Cardinals (Port Wing, WI), saw Washburn's basketball squad wallop South Shore by a count of 71-40.

With the victory, Washburn upgrades its record to 14-3 on the campaign. The Castle Guards travel to Bayfield (Bayfield, WI) to play the Trollers in a Northern Lights challenge on Tuesday, February 6. The Trollers come into the challenge with a record of 6-9. Bayfield won 85-52 in their recent league challenge against Lac Courte Oreilles (Hayward, WI)

Next up, the Cardinals play the Spooner Rails (Spooner, WI) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, February 5. South Shore will attempt to upgrade on its 4-13 season record. The Rails come into the challenge with a 2-14 record after their 58-51 league win over St. Croix Falls (St. Croix Falls, WI).
