Union County Braves (Morganfield, KY) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Webster County Trojans (Dixon, KY), 54-51 in a league bout.

With the victory, Union County upgrades its record to 10-10 on the campaign. The Braves travel to St. Mary (Paducah, KY) to play the Vikings in a non-league bout on Saturday, February 3. The Vikings come into the bout with a record of 15-9. St. Mary won 66-43 in their recent league bout against Community Christian (Paducah, KY)

Next up, the Trojans play the Henderson County Colonels (Henderson, KY) in a District 6 bout, on Tuesday, February 6. Webster County will attempt to upgrade on its 12-10 season record. The Colonels come into the bout with a 18-3 record after their 68-47 non-league win over Madisonville-North Hopkins (Madisonville, KY).
