The Gretna Hawks basketball team scored 52 points and restricted the host Altavista Colonels to 36 in the Hawks league victory on Friday.

The Hawks now sport a 7-11 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Appomattox County for a Dogwood contest on Monday, February 5. Gretna will battle a Raiders team coming off a 37-23 league win over Chatham (Chatham, VA). The Raiders record now stands at 12-4.

The Colonels (5-13) will now prepare for their contest against Parry McCluer (Buena Vista, VA). The Fighting Blues come into the non-league contest with a 15-3 record. In their last contest, Parry McCluer prevailed over Craig County (New Castle, VA), 52-24, in a league contest.
