Thurston Colts (Springfield, OR) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Ashland Grizzlies (Ashland, OR), 48-36 in a league bout.

With the victory, Thurston upgrades its record to 5-13 on the campaign. The Colts host Churchill (Eugene, OR) to play the Lancers in a 5A Midwestern bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Lancers come into the bout with a record of 4-14.

Next up, the Grizzlies play the Crater Comets (Central Point, OR) in a 5A Midwestern bout, on Tuesday, February 6. Ashland will attempt to upgrade on its 2-14 season record. The Comets come into the bout with a 16-2 record after their 58-56 league win over Springfield (Springfield, OR).
