Canton Eagles (Canton, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Brownsboro Bears (Brownsboro, TX), 43-27 in a league bout.

With the victory, Canton upgrades its record to 27-5 on the campaign. The Eagles host Van (Van, TX) to play the Vandals in a 4A Region II District 16 bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Vandals come into the bout with a record of 16-9. Van won 61-42 in their recent league bout against Athens (Athens, TX)

Next up, the Bears play the Cumberland Academy Knights (Tyler, TX) in a 4A Region II District 16 bout, on Tuesday, February 6. Brownsboro will attempt to upgrade on its 25-6 season record. The Knights come into the bout with a 4-16 record after their 90-8 league loss to Canton (Canton, TX).
