Calhoun Yellow Jackets (Calhoun, GA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Hiram Hornets (Hiram, GA), 45-28 in a league bout.

With the victory, Calhoun upgrades its record to 15-8 on the campaign. The Yellow Jackets host Cartersville (Cartersville, GA) to play the Hurricanes in a AAAAA Region 7 bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Hurricanes come into the bout with a record of 13-10. Cartersville won 68-18 in their recent league bout against Woodland (Cartersville, GA)

Next up, the Hornets play the Cass Colonels (White, GA) in a AAAAA Region 7 bout, on Tuesday, February 6. Hiram will attempt to upgrade on its 9-13 season record. The Colonels come into the bout with a 14-9 record after their 59-54 league loss to Dalton (Dalton, GA).
