LaPoynor Flyers (LaRue, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Cross Roads Bobcats (Malakoff, TX), 48-44 in a league bout.

With the win, LaPoynor upgrades its record to 22-8 on the season. The Flyers travel to Kerens (Kerens, TX) to play the Bobcats in a 2A Region III District 19 bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Bobcats go into the bout with a record of 1-20.

Next up, the Bobcats play the Martins Mill Mustangs (Ben Wheeler, TX) in a 2A Region III District 19 bout, on Tuesday, February 6. Cross Roads will attempt to upgrade on its 20-11 season record. The Mustangs go into the bout with a 28-4 record after their 83-8 league win over Cayuga (Cayuga, TX).
