Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Cushing Bearkats (Cushing, TX) and the visiting Overton Mustangs (Overton, TX), saw Cushing's basketball squad knock off Overton by a count of 52-32.

With the victory, Cushing upgrades its record to 17-7 on the campaign. The Bearkats travel to Douglass (Douglass, TX) to play the Indians in a 2A Region III District 22 challenge on Tuesday, February 6. The Indians come into the challenge with a record of 21-5. Douglass won 89-3 in their recent league challenge against Alto (Alto, TX)

Next up, the Mustangs play the Carlisle Indians (Price, TX) in a 2A Region III District 22 challenge, on Tuesday, February 6. Overton will attempt to upgrade on its 13-13 season record. The Indians come into the challenge with a 12-13 record after their 43-12 league win over New Summerfield (New Summerfield, TX).
