Thomas Jefferson Gryphons (Mooresboro, NC) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting East Gaston Warriors (Mt. Holly, NC), 51-12 in a league bout.

With the victory, Thomas Jefferson upgrades its record to 15-3 on the campaign. The Gryphons travel to Burns (Lawndale, NC) to play the Bulldogs in a 1A/2A Southern Piedmont bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 10-10. Burns won 40-36 in their recent non-league bout against The Master's Academy (Forest City, NC)

Next up, the Warriors play the Cherryville Ironmen (Cherryville, NC) in a 1A/2A Southern Piedmont bout, on Tuesday, February 6. East Gaston will attempt to upgrade on its 1-14 season record. The Ironmen come into the bout with a 5-14 record after their 65-40 league loss to Bessemer City (Bessemer City, NC).
