Fans at Friday's league challenge between the North Surry Greyhounds (Mount Airy, NC) and the visiting Forbush Falcons (East Bend, NC), saw North Surry's basketball squad hold off Forbush by a tally of 48-45.

With the victory, North Surry improves its record to 14-4 on the campaign. The Greyhounds host West Wilkes (Millers Creek, NC) to confront the Blackhawks in a 2A Foothills challenge on Tuesday, February 6. The Blackhawks come into the challenge with a record of 10-9. West Wilkes lost 55-45 in their recent league challenge against North Wilkes (Hays, NC)

Next up, the Falcons confront the Surry Central Golden Eagles (Dobson, NC) in a 2A Foothills challenge, on Tuesday, February 6. Forbush will attempt to improve on its 15-5 season record. The Golden Eagles come into the challenge with a 12-6 record after their 43-37 non-league win over Elkin (Elkin, NC).
