Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Hibriten Panthers (Lenoir, NC) and the visiting Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC), saw Hibriten's basketball squad overcome Freedom by a tally of 54-37.

With the victory, Hibriten improves its record to 15-3 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC) to confront the Huskies in a 3A/4A Northwestern challenge on Tuesday, February 6. The Huskies come into the challenge with a record of 12-7. Ashe County won 66-55 in their recent league challenge against Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC)

Next up, the Patriots confront the South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC) in a 3A/4A Northwestern challenge, on Tuesday, February 6. Freedom will attempt to improve on its 11-8 season record. The Spartans come into the challenge with a 9-11 record after their 65-45 league loss to Watauga (Boone, NC).
