Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Hatley Tigers (Amory, MS) and the visiting Smithville Seminoles (Smithville, MS), saw Hatley's basketball squad hold off Smithville by a tally of 32-31.

With the victory, Hatley improves its record to 17-7 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to New Site (New Site, MS) to confront the Royals in a 2A Region 1 challenge on Saturday, February 3. The Royals come into the challenge with a record of 16-8. New Site won 57-26 in their recent non-league challenge against Red Bay (Red Bay, AL)

Next up, the Seminoles confront the Houlka Wildcats (Houlka, MS) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, February 6. Smithville will attempt to improve on its 10-17 season record. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a 0-22 record after their 58-7 non-league loss to South Pontotoc (Pontotoc, MS).
