The Highlands Highlanders basketball team scored 53 points and restricted the host Nantahala Hawks to 18 in the Highlanders league victory on Friday.

The Highlanders now sport a 5-14 record. They put it on the line next when they host Hiwassee Dam for a 1A Little Smoky contest on Tuesday, February 6. Highlands will battle a Eagles team coming off a 58-26 league win over Blue Ridge Early College (Cashiers, NC). The Eagles record now stands at 16-3.

The Hawks (1-13) will now prepare for their contest against Blue Ridge Early College (Cashiers, NC). The Bobcats come into the 1A Little Smoky contest with a 1-17 record. In their last contest, Blue Ridge Early College was routed by Hiwassee Dam (Murphy, NC), 58-26, in a league contest.
