Morristown-Hamblen East Hurricanes (Morristown, TN) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Jefferson County Patriots (Dandridge, TN), 77-54 in a league bout.

With the victory, Morristown-Hamblen East upgrades its record to 19-6 on the campaign. The Hurricanes host Cocke County (Newport, TN) to play the Fighting Cocks in a non-league bout on Saturday, February 3. The Fighting Cocks come into the bout with a record of 19-7. Cocke County won 53-44 in their recent league bout against Northview Academy (Kodak, TN)

Next up, the Patriots play the Carter Green Hornets (Strawberry Plains, TN) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, February 6. Jefferson County will attempt to upgrade on its 9-11 season record. The Green Hornets come into the bout with a 5-21 record after their 76-40 non-league loss to Grainger (Rutledge, TN).
