Laurel Christian Lions (Laurel, MS) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Sylva Bay Academy Saints (Bay Springs, MS), 46-45 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Laurel Christian upgrades its record to 10-13 on the season.

Next up, the Saints play the Porter's Chapel Academy Eagles (Vicksburg, MS) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, February 7. Sylva Bay Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 12-12 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 5-0 record after their 52-38 non-league win over Briarfield Academy (Lake Providence, LA).
