The Newton Cardinals basketball team scored 46 points and held the visiting Oskaloosa Indians to 32 in the Cardinals league triumph on Friday.
The Cardinals now sport a 4-12 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Knoxville for a non-league contest on Saturday, February 3. Newton will meet a Panthers team coming off a 56-49 league win over Davis County (Bloomfield, IA). The Panthers record now stands at 9-7.
The Indians (8-8) will now prepare for their contest against Knoxville (Knoxville, IA). The Panthers enter the non-league contest with a 9-8 record. In their last contest, Knoxville was outscored by Newton (Newton, IA), 56-42, in a non-league contest.
