Rison Wildcats (Rison, AR) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Ouachita Warriors (Donaldson, AR), 47-44 in a league bout.

With the victory, Rison upgrades its record to 13-10 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Woodlawn (Rison, AR) to play the Bears in a 2A Region 8 bout on Friday, February 9. The Bears come into the bout with a record of 10-13.

Next up, the Warriors play the Gurdon Go-Devils (Gurdon, AR) in a 2A Region 8 bout, on Tuesday, February 6. Ouachita will attempt to upgrade on its 21-10 season record. The Go-Devils come into the bout with a 13-4 record after their 53-31 league win over Woodlawn (Rison, AR).
