Santa Anna Mountaineers (Santa Anna, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Panther Creek Panthers (Valera, TX), 78-35 in a league bout.

With the win, Santa Anna upgrades its record to 12-8 on the season. The Mountaineers travel to Menard (Menard, TX) to play the Yellowjackets in a 1A Region II District 12 bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Yellowjackets go into the bout with a record of 22-5. Menard lost 27-23 in their recent league bout against Eden (Eden, TX)

Next up, the Panthers play the Paint Rock Indians (Paint Rock, TX) in a 1A Region II District 12 bout, on Tuesday, February 6. Panther Creek will attempt to upgrade on its 1-9 season record.
