Searcy Lions (Searcy, AR) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Paragould Rams (Paragould, AR), 52-34 in a league bout.

With the win, Searcy upgrades its record to 17-5 on the season. The Lions host West Memphis (West Memphis, AR) to play the Blue Devils in a 5A East bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Blue Devils go into the bout with a record of 11-9. West Memphis lost 59-55 in their recent league bout against Marion (Marion, AR)

Next up, the Rams play the Valley View Blazers (Jonesboro, AR) in a 5A East bout, on Tuesday, February 6. Paragould will attempt to upgrade on its 1-19 season record. The Blazers go into the bout with a 9-13 record after their 54-48 league loss to Batesville (Batesville, AR).
