The Smithfield Sentinels (Esmond, RI) basketball felled the visiting Prout Crusaders (Wakefield, RI), 46-34 in Friday's league test.

The Sentinels (9-7) will now prepare for their test against East Greenwich (East Greenwich, RI). The Avengers go into the Division 2 test with a 4-11 record. In their last test, East Greenwich went down by Cranston East (Cranston, RI), 51-41, in a league test.

The Crusaders now own a 5-11 record. They play next when they host West Warwick for a Division 2 test on Tuesday, February 6. Prout will encounter a Wizards squad coming off a 43-33 league win over Smithfield (Esmond, RI). The Wizards record now stands at 13-5.
