Tohatchi Cougars (Tohatchi, NM) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Zuni Thunderbirds (Zuni, NM), 60-45 in a league bout.

With the win, Tohatchi upgrades its record to 16-4 on the season. The Cougars travel to Navajo Prep (Farmington, NM) to clash with the Eagles in a 3A District 1 bout on Wednesday, February 7. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 12-8. Navajo Prep won 66-36 in their recent league bout against Newcomb (Newcomb, NM)

Next up, the Thunderbirds clash with the Wingate Bears (Fort Wingate, NM) in a 3A District 1 bout, on Friday, February 9. Zuni will attempt to upgrade on its 12-8 season record.
